Oaxaca, Mexico Gathering

Oaxaca is the gathering we keep coming back to. Of all the ground we have walked together, none has drawn us in like the highlands and coast of southern Mexico — the lands the Book of Mormon describes, where the story of a covenant people unfolded. This is a Book of Mormon tour: days spent walking, studying, and worshiping our way through country that makes the record come alive in a way no classroom ever could.

The gathering moves in two parts. We begin with four days in Oaxaca itself — the ruins, the valleys, the markets, and long hours of study set against the backdrop of the land. Then we move to the Pacific coast for four days in Puerto Escondido, where the pace slows, the ocean takes over, and the fellowship deepens. The first half feeds the mind; the second half lets it settle. By the end you will have both studied and rested, and you will have done it shoulder to shoulder with people who love the same things you do.

What to Expect

• Guided visits to the sites and ruins of the Oaxaca valley, with scripture study tied to the ground beneath your feet
• Teaching that sets the Book of Mormon in its land — geography, culture, and covenant
• Four days on the Pacific at Puerto Escondido — beach, rest, and unhurried fellowship
• Shared meals, evening gatherings, and conversation that does not have to end
• A relaxed, family-friendly second leg built for restoration as much as study
• Lodging for both legs of the journey included — airfare arranged by each traveler

Airfare is not included. Travelers book their own flights, and we will share the recommended airports and arrival windows once you reserve. Passports are required for international travel.
